follow your own rhythm - a powerful place

Sometimes, there are moments when it seems to be incredible hard for us to find inspiration.

Inspiration for anything; to create or do - to read, draw, to get out of bed, to call someone, to cook & eat, to accept an invitation, leave the house, to smile & being nice to ourselves.

In those moments I ask myself “Why am I doing all of this? Is it worth it? Does anyone care? And if so, will it ever make a difference?”

Whenever that happens it’s so important to not beat ourselves up. Acknowledge & follow your own rhythm is the best advice I give to myself.

I let the crocodile tears run down my cheeks, take the pointed finger off myself (the judging finger), relax my forehead muscles, unfocus my thoughts, close my eyes & take slow, deep breaths. I even listen to the sound of my own breathing and notice the up & down movement of my chest, belly & the sensations in my whole body.

I say to this strange friend feeling: “Hello”. The question I ask: “Can I be open to what is coming towards me? Open & receiving to what wants to reach me?”

And then I listen. I mean, not only with the physical ears. Listen to this inner knowing. A deeper response. I trust it. There is this inner invisible spiritual place which supports us and gives us life. Where we find our confident voice. Where we find our inspiration.

These moments tell me: it’s time to get more quiet. To put the chatter of others and the world as a whole on mute for a while. It’s the time to build a relationship with this non-physical invisible place inside of us. There are many paths to access this place - through meditation, prayer, reflection, nature, etc. - find your own path.

And if we endure it with patience it’s gift will show up. Such as ground breaking ideas, to move forward easier, knowing the next step, to feel like a leader in our own life, more empowerment and confidence in standing out & proud in our uniqueness and authenticity.

You see, there is magic in this moment.

Inspiration comes and goes like the high & low tide in the ocean. The water flows towards the shore in more or less regular timeframes but rather unpredictable ways. The water flows back towards the horizon in the same movement but at different times of the day and year.

It shows me: always follow your own rhythm.

This is not for the faint-hearted. The seemingly strongest amongst us are most often the most wounded, deep down the most vulnerable people with a delicate fragile heart. Their heart is taped & patched with sticking plaster to cover & repair their scratches.

In best case those people have turned their pain & abuse into fierce power, love & determination for their mission towards a brighter future. They value purpose before recognition and possess the ability to transform melancholy into muse to encourage others.

Like everyone else, those people are watched over. And sometimes, even the strongest amongst us benefit greatly in tough moments from support, encouragement & recognition. So, spirit listens and send them helpers in human or any other form (I call them angels) who tell us in the exact right moment, the exact right words we need to hear to keep going and follow through with our mission. Human angels who remind us why we are here.
